Will GTA 6 Be on PC? The Honest Answer
Buying a console purely on a rumoured PC date somebody made up.
GTA 6 launches 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. That is the whole platform list.
There is no PC version at launch. Rockstar has not announced a PC release date, has not announced a PC release window, and has not committed to one publicly at all.
Anyone showing you a specific PC date right now is guessing. A lot of them are guessing on purpose because the guess gets clicks.
What Rockstar history actually suggests
Rockstar has done console-first launches before, so there is a real pattern to look at. The pattern is not a promise, but it beats a made-up date.
- GTA V launched on console in September 2013. PC arrived in April 2015, roughly 18 months later.
- Red Dead Redemption 2 launched on console in October 2018. PC arrived in November 2019, roughly 12 months later.
If GTA 6 follows the same shape, a PC version lands somewhere in 2027. That is a pattern-based estimate, not an announcement. Treat it as such.
What this means for mods and roleplay
Mods run on PC. Roleplay servers run on PC. FiveM runs on PC.
That means the entire GTA roleplay scene stays on GTA V until a GTA 6 PC version exists. Not "mostly stays". Stays.
Rockstar bought Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM, back in August 2023, so the roleplay side has an official owner now. What that turns into for GTA 6 has not been detailed.
Should you wait for PC?
If you only play on PC, you are waiting regardless. There is nothing to buy.
If you own a PS5 or Series X already, waiting for an unannounced version means skipping a game you can play in November for one that might arrive over a year later.
The one genuinely bad move is buying a console today on the assumption that a PC version is far away. Nobody outside Rockstar knows that.
